Open for just over a year, TRINITY Estiatorio has already been awarded the highly prestigious 'Award of Excellence' for one of the most outstanding wine lists in the world by the ultimate authority on wine, Wine Spectator Magazine. Situated in the heart of downtown Montreal, TRINITY boasts the single largest exclusive Greek wine list outside of Greece. Almost entirely through private import TRINITY's wine cellar has over 300 different selections of wine from different parts of Greece and approximately 10,000 bottles in its continuously expanding inventory. Orchestrated by the VP of Operations, Imad Nabwani along with the President of TRINITY, Peter Morentzos, this ambitious wine program required them to research the Greek wine industry for over a year by visiting the most prestigious wineries all over the country and by participating in widely acclaimed wine shows, such as the Oenorama and Kerasma wine festivals held in Athens and Thessaloniki. The challenge was always to educate the patrons of TRINITY in Greek wine, which was achieved by flying in a guest sommelier, Tasso Balas from the Evharis winery in Greece, to spend six months talking to guests about Greek wines, training the staff and answering questions about this 'new world wine'. In order to keep the wine program vibrant and current, Imad Nabwani, will continuously travel to Greece to meet with different winemakers, distributors and wine agents to source out the most exciting arrivals on the Greek wine scene.

Wine Spectator Magazine only recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature over 100 interesting selections that are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. To qualify for an award, the list must include diverse vintages, appellations for all selections, including wines available by the glass. The Magazine also takes into consideration the overall presentation and appearance of the list, the selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. It should be noted that it is extremely rare to receive an award for a wine list that features wines from ONLY one country, especially when the wines are considered New world wines.
